How does working in the aesthetic industry differ to the NHS?

Over the past 20 years of medical aesthetic training we have found that nurses are very well suited to this field because they have good transferable skills. It just takes an artistic eye and a desire to branch out from mainstream nursing to become successful in aesthetic, Botox and Dermal Filler treatments. From talking to our past aesthetic nurse delegates, the benefits of moving to aesthetics are:

  • Medical aesthetics gives you more patient time and creativity in your treatments in order to delight your patients. You have the control over the treatments you administer, techniques you choose and products you use to provide the best results for your patients.
  • Aesthetics is an incredibly rewarding industry, you can change patients lives with the skills you develop.
  • The work life balance from becoming an aesthetic nurse is also an important benefit for nurses and midwives looking to start their own career within aesthetics. Becoming your own boss, you are able to decide your hours. Having this key benefit, aesthetic nurses tend to have a greater work life balance and achieve a higher job satisfaction.
  • Being your own boss also means you have an uncapped earning potential. Aesthetic treatments are becoming increasingly popular with high demand across the country. As an Aesthetic Nurse Practitioner (either self-employed or working for a clinic), you can expect to earn far more than you would as a Nurse in the NHS.
