Weight Watchers Friendly Thanksgiving Slow Cooker Recipes

I love Thanksgiving. It's one of my favorite holidays. With its focus on food, friends, family and gratitude, what's not to love?

Using a slow cooker, or crockpot, for your Thanksgiving recipes can be a real life saver, especially with any WeightWatchers-friendly dishes. Slow cookers let you assemble your ingredients in the morning. Then while they simmer away you can attend to other kitchen preparations. This hands-off approach makes it easier to manage multiple tasks in a much saner way.

Another advantage of slow cooking is the ability to create flavorful and tender dishes with minimal added fats. This is particularly helpful when crafting healthier alternatives to Thanksgiving classics.

Since I began using my slow cooker(s) to make my side dishes and desserts, I've never looked back. It takes the stress out of trying to coordinate timing and jockeying for oven space.

I still use the oven to roast a big turkey, but you can prepare your entire Thanksgiving meal inslowcookers if you only need a turkey breast.

While most of your Thanksgiving meal cooks unattended, you can enjoy your family, catch the parade and maybe even a little football!

Here is a list of my favorite 10 Weight Watchers Friendly Slow Cooker Thanksgiving Recipes you can make in your crock pot. Some are traditional recipes adapted for the crock pot - like pumpkin bread and green bean casserole. Others offer up some delicious twists, such as mashed potatoes with spinach and dill and sweet potato apple casserole.

They are all delicious and relatively low in fat, calories and WW Points.

This slow cooker sweet potato casserole, adapted from the Fix-It and Forget-It New Cookbook, is my latest favorite slow cooker sweet potato recipe. But, I decided to put it in a 1-½-quartcasserole dish(affiliate link)that I placed inside my6-Quart slow cooker(affiliate link) instead. It worked very well 🙂
